These troops will hit the ground just as the campaigns get under way next Spring for the Fall elections, after which the entire Congress will have to get a new job because they are going to get fired by their bosses.
In an act of desperation the libtard running for re-election will be desperately pleading with Obowmao to bring the troops home but he won’t do it. So the left will be just as mad as the conservatives already are.

I suspect there may be a delay while congress argues over whether they have to impose extra taxes to pay for these troops.
There has been some talk along those lines. If the issue arises, it could be quite contentious, and might delay any decision. Which may be the point.

Why are people here treating McChystal like a God? He’s just a general who, like nearly all generals (shades of Westmoreland), ALWAYS wants more money and troops. Before he was WAS APPOINTED BY OBAMA, what was his main accomplishment? The only one I can think of was that he helped cover up details of the Pat Tillman killing. Let’s quit get off the bandwagon to get deeper in Obama’s and McChystal’s futile nation-building war and bring the troops home.
If he privately objected, he could always say, "The Constitution declares the President to be Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces and it is a soldier's duty to follow his decisions" ...
Anyone worth their salt would know that he disagreed, without him actually saying it ...

I doubt we can do better than the Soviets did in giving the Afghans a “horrifying lesson.” I suppose we could intentionally kill thousands of civilians to inflict terror but no president, Republican or Democrat, is going to be able to do that. The only feasible and realistic alternative is to leave now.
