HOPEWELL TWP. — U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter said Monday that he is confident the Senate will pass meaningful health-care reform.
“You’re not going to satisfy everybody, but I think we’re going to get a bill that’s going to be a pretty good bill,” he said shortly before meeting with 10 Beaver County Democrats at the American Serbian Club in Hopewell Township.
Specter, D-Philadelphia, said reform will prohibit insurance companies from discriminating against Americans with pre-existing conditions and encourage annual examinations that can catch illnesses before they become more expensive to treat.
As for U.S. Rep. Jason Altmire, D-4, McCandless Township, who voted against the health-care reform bill in the House because he thought it did not cut costs enough, Specter said Altmire might be more amenable to the Senate’s version.

Never mind that this well-intentioned little clause will raise the cost of insurance for everybody.
He used to work for UPMC (Univ of Pitts Med Center)so the dems seem to think he is in the health insurance lobbyists pockets.
I have been sending faxes to our Congress critters as Sen Byrd's sec once told me thet he like reading what people write....as opposed to phone calls and emails
Everyday that passes by these politicians sicken me more and more.

My son lives there and I usually visit him about once a yr.
WITH duress and threats of taxes, jail time, 250,000 fines, real private employer mandates, employer health taxes, additional legal compliance hours, .......Yeah, duress and threats.....that’s really good for ones health, mental health, and spiritual health. Call threats and duress healthy for the young people too?
