HOPEWELL TWP. U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter said Monday that he is confident the Senate will pass meaningful health-care reform.
Youre not going to satisfy everybody, but I think were going to get a bill thats going to be a pretty good bill, he said shortly before meeting with 10 Beaver County Democrats at the American Serbian Club in Hopewell Township.
Specter, D-Philadelphia, said reform will prohibit insurance companies from discriminating against Americans with pre-existing conditions and encourage annual examinations that can catch illnesses before they become more expensive to treat.
As for U.S. Rep. Jason Altmire, D-4, McCandless Township, who voted against the health-care reform bill in the House because he thought it did not cut costs enough, Specter said Altmire might be more amenable to the Senates version.

By the looks of things they will be trying to get to Jason Altmire who voted against the bill.
Pat Tommey is going to crush the scottish law dingbat.
Specter - a walking, talking sphincter!
This is a big steel town....or once was...union rich. They already lost/closed the doors on their hospital a year or so ago.
The American Serbian Club? I bet that’s got some influence. /s
I pray the good people of Pennsylvania retire this RAT dingbat.
Ten People!?!?!?! And a missed FReep opportunity...
I don’t think anyone knew of this. Did they sneak the Snarlin one in under a blanket, in the back of a unmarked van?
Only ten people!?!?!? Wow...the homeless must really NOT want free cigarettes any more!
FWIW, at first I thought Altmire had been ‘given’ special dispensation from Pelousie to NOT vote for healthcare...but now, I am rethinking that. Could he be a rare, rogue Dem?
The Serb club is where everyone goes to eat after elections. It’s been around there for 60some years. My parents wedding reception was held there!
I really wish I’d been there. With only 10 others present, certainly could have asked him whether the $100, 000 or so spent to treat him, an 80 year old man, for his second cancer, was worth it.
Soon to be former senator, when he fails to get elected again with only 10 votes to his name.
I read this paper online everyday and didn’t see mention of this prior to today.
No thank you, Sphincter.
When PA people see that face, they think someone high up is looking after them!
Specter’s been senile for about 40 yrs. Now he’s just another stupid, delusional democrat. And they’re more then welcome to him.
I’m going to call Altmire.....whose office is right across the street to the Serb Club....and tell him to hang in there. The people in town were Hilliary supporters, not Obowma fans

Beaver. Not far from Moon.
With our weak kneed, spineless RINOS here in PA...I don’t care (now) what letter is after a pol’s name. Only if they are conservative or not. Altmire had the stoneage to vote ‘no’ to this Obamination. That says something.
My new tactic, Madeline, if I ever actually get thru again to either Dim Senator (convenient constant busy signals...who saw that coming) is to point out that Mary Landrieu AT LEAST got 300 million for LA...what did they get for PA for their support of ObamaCare??? Hmmm??? Nothing!!!
At least they will talk about me when I hang up.
I would like for this miserable SOB to come to my town for a town hall meeting!!!!!!! He is the best example of the need for term limits that I can think of........
