I guess I’m more cynical than that. It should be good news, but Obama was someone who was run for president. He’s a figurehead and the people behind him may need something to happen (like a national security crisis) so that we ‘have’ to support him.

I don't think so. Obama is so far from the mainstream that I think he has set a new standard for "strongly disapprove". With Clinton that was based on disgust with his morals, even though he was essentially adequate in the actual performance of his duties. Half the time (and I could never predict when just from his words), his actions came close to matching what I wanted him to do. With Obama "strongly" is far too mild a word for the complete contempt we feel for this evil tyrant wannabe.

A little crisis (even nukes in multiple cities) won't change our strong disapproval - if anything another crisis added to the existing crisis fatigue will only further erode the socialist's support. Obama and those in his circle know that they have already gone too far with too little.
