ObamaCare's winners and losers
NY Post ^ | November 24, 2009 | BETSY MCCAUGHEY

After the Senate voted Saturday night to pro ceed with debate on health reform, Majority Leader Harry Reid declared the public the winner. In truth, more Americans will be losers than winners.

Both Senate and House bills strip nearly half a trillion dollars from Medicare, robbing seniors to expand Medicaid. The Senate bill also spends billions on drug treatment, sex education, translators and romance and relationship lessons (p. 612) that could be used to treat heart disease, cancer and stroke -- the diseases that kill most of us.

A ‘Cadillac’ health care plan, for those who have them, are part of your compensation. The benefits you receive are a part of your overall decision making when choosing a job. Taxing them is just another form of wage taxation, and another glaring example of redistribution of wealth. They might as well just go into everyones bank accounts and take what they think is required to ‘make society fair’.

In the meantime, they give taxpayer money to ‘community groups’. These are often people with lots of time on their hands because they're not working very hard at anything else.

This is insane. After this year, we go back home after a foreign assignment. We will have enough money to purchase a house outright, we have cars that are paid for, and no debt. We will seek to make as little as possible to stay under the radar and not live a moderately enjoyable existence.

I even question doing that because they will probably come for the house at some point too. I would not come back at all except my husband no longer wants to be out of the states.

White women are ObamaCARE's real losers.

They have been chosen to DIE by Obama.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

This Obama pro-death, Marxist, directive is not only stupid (changing a curative disease
to an incurable disease for some women) but the change is racist,
because it selectively inflicts, by death panel, destruction upon mainly white women.

Hispanic women and to a lesser degree Black women have
almost half the risk of incidence of breast carcinoma
that white women do from ages 40 to 50.

Most interestingly, white women had been doing well
by curative treatment. They were being cured. That is not to be any longer.

Most people will just pay the fine and skip a costly health plan. This is "free" health care? What a joke!

If we as a society let anything like that occur, we have no one to blame but ourselves. Sometimes you have to fight for what you believe in, and to protect those you love from tyranny.

I agree whole heartedly.

I do not know exactly HOW the fight will or should proceed.

But the fight will happen and the nation will either survive stronger or disintegrate.

Isn’t Medicare a “trust fund”(?), meaning that money put into it is only suppose to pay for Medicare? I realize that politicians have been raiding the Social Security “trust fund” for years but didn’t they always leave Medicare alone? And if they are going to cut Medicare by $500 billion to pay for other healthcare, are they not raiding Medicare?

“They have been chosen to DIE by Obama.”

Don’t know if you caught David Horowitz on Glenn Beck yesterday? In summary he said that the best way to beat the progressives is to beat them at their own game...to throw them off kilter by using their own Alinsky tactics against them. He suggested one way to do it would be for conservative women from 9/12 groups all across the country to hold “sit ins” like the leftists do. The message has to be as true and outrageous as I’ve quoted you..could include both cuts on Mammograms and Pap tests! Horowitz said it’s the best way, via the media, to get the message to the general public on exactly what Obamacare will bring, while doing something so unexpected by conservatives the media can’t ignore and progressives will be shocked.

I think it’s high time we learned to play their game against them.

From the article, ....."A family of four earning $96,000 can expect to pay 19 percent of pretax income on premiums, copays and deductibles, according to the Congressional Budget Office. "

That's $18,240.

I know what I will do - If the govt option is shoved down our throats; we should take it - and use it - in copius amounts. For every scrape, cough or malody we should insist that our “right” to government provided healthcare be exercised fully. Insist we get every test for every concevable condition every time a therotical symptom occurs. Insist on second and third opinions for even the most obvious or minor conditions. We can bury the system from within.

“Requests” will be denied. In fact, I would go so far as to say that at some point, party affiliation will play a role in who does and does not get adequate care! Nothing is far fetched anymore.

Are we prepared, as the progressives would be, to TAKE ACTION, when those requests are denied. I’m talking civil disobedience....sit ins, shut downs,...any of the Alinsky tactics. We must begin now to learn and to take lessons from their playbook.
