They would all be asking for his autograph on their discharge papers.
I will NOT be asking for his autograph on my Letter Of Appreciation for my years of service. (Retire in July of next year.) I have found some official sites to request a LOA from GWB, or Clinton, or even Carter.
Guess which one I'll be requesting?

Do you have to retire to receive something like that?
I only did a regular hitch in the Corps. back in
the late 60s but would love to have one with
GW’s sig on it.

I retired 1 Oct last year - joke was to avoid Obama’s signature. A fellow I work with considered it shameful that he had BJ Clinton’s on his. Were is that site you mentioned?
