I think Joe the Plumber has the right idea. Sarah stays on the outside until after 2012. Then a new GOP president puits her in an appropriate cabinet post (Secy of Energy) so she gains understanding of the nuts and bolts of DC’s machine, and where she has some standing. Then in 2020 after 2 terms of the 2012 winner, she can run.

>Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin got some heavy flak because they really are just like you and me

You are wrong. Carrie PreJean, Dick Cheney, Dan Quayle, GW Bush, got lynched by the press and they are certainly not like you and me.

No, they all got lynched because all of those people are NOT LIKE THE ELITE.

I hope she does run but if she didn’t, she could be a powerful force campaigning for conservative candidates and could be in line for a high level appointment when a conservative politician wins the presidency.

I agree with Joe on the Palin part. And I think she will be better in 2016 or 2020. Not that I won’t vote for her if she’s the best running - certainly better than Romney and the preacher.

But I’m hoping we come up with a candidate better than any that ran last time.

You were saying ...

tell joe to stick to fixing toilets

I think the Democrats told him that last year... LOL...

I guess you're just getting around to catching up to the Democrats now... :-)

I think Joe's wrong about Palin being just a rallying point. Being a potential candidate makes her more of a rallying point.

But Joe's the first one in the spotlight to say he doesn't like Obama.

I think Joe gets it in that if you don't stand up against those who threaten your rights, even if it's painful, you will lose those rights.

I have respect for Joe.

I like Palin a lot, but I'm undecided about whether it's a good idea for her to run in 2012. It does us no good to have another 1964-type race. The GOP elite would be out to sabotage her in every way possible.

I think of Reagan's run in 1968, after half a term as governor of California. He could be dismissed then, but 12 years later was able to win. 2020 might be the right time for Sarah Palin...but hopefully after two terms of a conservative Republican President.

Ah, but Palin's not the only one who can "save" us in 2012.
