Haven't we heard this urban myth before about there being more domestic violence at superbowl games than on ordinary days?
Do we have to set this urban myth to rest a second time?

Oh please.
How do you determine if those people even watched a game? or what teams they are fans of? Or how big of a fan someone is?

>The study, by the economists David Card at Berkeley and Gordon B. Dahl at the University of California-San Diego, looked at police reports of family violence on Sundays during the professional football season.
Berkely economists....wow.

Another Femi-Nazi urban legend. This has been debunked time and time again. The filthy slime at the NY Slimes continue to repeat it because it supports their agenda.

Lots of spouses getting kicked around in Baltimore the past few weeks, what with Joe Flaccid being unable to put together a touchdown drive....

Do we have to set this urban myth to rest a second time? From the article:
After controlling for things like location and weather, they found that upset losses by the home team were associated with higher rates of domestic violence.
Obviously its no myth, after all they did take the weather and location into account.....

These two academic goofs are economists, not sociologists. I guess there’s more grant money in trashing football, family gatherings and Thanksgiving.
