She's Back A transcript of the weekend's program on FOX News Channel.
Stuart Varney: This week "The Journal Editorial Report," Sarah Palin's relaunch. The former Alaska governor re-emerges on the national stage to mixed reviews. We'll have ours. And a double-dip recession? President Obama says it's a risk with rising debt. So why is there talk of another multibillion-dollar stimulus?
*** Varney: Hello everyone. Welcome to "The Journal Editorial Report." I'm Stuart Varney, in this week for Paul Gigot.
First up, the relaunch of Sarah Palin. The former Alaskan governor and vice presidential candidate launched a nationwide book tour this week. Fans hope it's the first stop of the 2012 presidential contest. But whether or not she runs, Palin's populist appeal gives her enormous influence within the Republican Party. Though she says the White House is not on her radar screen right now, she told FOX's Bill O'Reilly that she thinks she has what it takes.
O'Reilly: Do you believe that you are capable--could do the job of the president of the United States?
Palin: I believe that I am, but that's not to say that I'm putting myself out there to campaign or anything else for such a thing.
O'Reilly: No, it's not to say that. But you believe that you are smart enough, incisive enough, intellectual enough to handle the most powerful job in the world? Do you believe that?
Palin: I believe that I am, because I have common sense, and I have, I believe, the values that are reflective of so many other American values.
Varney: Joining the panel this week, Wall Street Journal editorial board member Jason Riley, assistant editorial page editor James Freeman and Washington columnist Kim Strassel.
Jason, to you first. Do you think that Sarah Palin now looks presidential?

Heh... Don’t ya think that this just makes the MSM furious? I still can’t figure out just why her popularity drives the MSM nuts, but am willing to watch and learn...hehe...
Drives the MSM “nuts” because THEY KNOW she’s a VIABLE candidate of the future....VERY viable!
Heh, yep, not only that but they actually fear her entry into the process (my guess, since they are so crazy about her entry). I still can’t quite figure out just why she is so detrimental to their cause...
Did anyone in the MSM question Zer0 if he had the brains and experience to be President? He’s proven himself to be an incapable leader. The worst of this is he has no love for this country.
It was so obvious that Zer0 was a big zero but no one dared to say the king was “naked”.
No... Can’t be the reason. Something else about her drives the MSM nuts! I have several ideas, but can’t quite put my mind around it... Eventually, they will expose themselves I would guess... In the interim, let’s just enjoy her speeches and written articles (minus the MSM idiotic flame wars)...
This morning I heard a few minutes of radio and I believe the speaker was that Jason Riley. What a little priss. He mentioned that she just wasn’t presidential because her whole book was about her being a victim, a victim of the media, and you can’t do that and be presidential. Well, Mr. Riley, who has been a bigger victim of the media other than G. W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin?
Last I looked, we had an occupant of the Oval Office who cannot claim victimhood as regards the media, but neither can he accept responsibility for ANYTHING. Nothing is his fault, it’s all the fault of the previous Administration. He throws that out in every single speech. But, in Mr. Riley’s eyes, I guess that’s presidential.
They know she’s gonna mess up their corrupt power network, including the media whores who’ve spent years pretending to be journalists.
Heh...Yes, Obama is the victim to the media... Unfortunately, his competition will never be a victim, but just another source to be put down by them. Go get’em Sarah...
Hey, isn’t it fun though to watch them go through all those hoops...?
shes just shakin things up right now—ha ha
I keep wondering why the MSM is so hell bent on destroying Sarah. If she’s such a “horrible” candidate, the leftists should be ENCOURAGING her, because she’d be so easy to beat in 2012.
Sarah could make a number of past presidents look foolish by comparison. How far do you want to go back?
Exactly... which is why all the commotion about her book is so outrageous... Obviously something else is at work here...
I think that it is the connection to the common people that scares them so... Heaven help them that would vote for someone other that a Harvard grad.. - haha... These supposed leaders of the populace are on their last legs - I hope!
Which really means she's not such a horrible candidate, after all, doesn't it? Instead, it means they're afraid of her.
Sarah Palin should do a TV special, something like “Sarah Palin on Health Care”. It should be on Fox Network (not Fox News), primetime, and it would be a half hour or an hour where she talks about why the Healthcare plan is bad. It wouldn’t have to be just her talking to the camera. She could sit at a desk, talking to some guy who is 25 years old, healthy, makes $15k a year, has no health insurance and doesn’t really care. He can explain that he doesn’t want the Government forcing him to spend a large percentage of his limited income on health insurance. He might say that he won’t buy health insurance, and he thinks it sucks that the Democrats want to throw him in jail because he doesn’t want to buy health insurance. She could talk to other people who would explain how the health care plan will hurt them. Sarah Palin would be allowed to produce the show herself, so the show would be just what she wants. The show would be popular - she’s giving Oprah, Hannity, etc., the biggest ratings in years. It would make money for the network. Palin is the Republicans best messenger right now and we really could use something pretty big (like a Sarah TV special) to stop the healthcare plan. People watch the show, people call their Sens and Reps even more than they already have, support for the health care plan drops, the bill doesn’t pass, and Palin gets credit. Then every single Republican candidate asks for her support, etc etc. She’s set up even better for 2012.

What makes me Furious is FOX news cutting off Sarah Palins Answer Halfway through, the Best part was at the end when she said Americans are turning away from the Ivy League so called Brains that have turned this country into a Cesspool
I think the (yes fear) from the media left, has to do with Governor Palin’s utter absense of ‘victimhood’ coattails.
She’s about rugged individualism.
That’s as American as can be - which explains her immense popularity - but it’s in direct contradiction to the meme the media has constructed.
Most of the media are in journalism - specifically to construct that meme. The sixties hippies, “working from inside the system” to change things and bring about that revolution they wanted.
Now they see Fox News taking their customers, and Sarah Palin about to demolish their carefully designed propaganda construct of victimhood and group politics.
It’s all they’ve cared about since the 60s. It is their very reason for being. And it’s all about to crumble from under their feet.
That’s their fear. It’s not actually caused by Sarah Palin - ironically liberals caused it themselves through their own dishonesty and arrogance, but she’s for some reason the one, who is making media leftists aware, they’ve blown it and actually nobody is buying their BS.
They actually believed they had us all fooled.
Seriously. Some still seem to believe that.
They’ll still have no clue, when they’re clearing out their desks.
When the LSM resorts to a Norah O’Donnell snarking a 15 year old, you know they are beside themselves. All the AP “fact checkers” for Sarah’s book might spend their time on “An Inconvenient Truth” [sic] and investigating the UEA emails. But, oh, noooooooooooooooooooo ... they are too busy pounding Sarah. Worthless lot.
