WASHINGTON Republican Rep. Tom McClintock says the federal government has wasted enough money subsidizing solar power, calculating that it would take 22,000 acres of solid solar panels to duplicate the energy from a single nuclear plant.
"This is an industry that exists solely off the dole, by the dole, and for the dole," McClintock said in a speech on the House floor last month.
Two weeks later, he proclaimed that Congress was "disconnected from reality" as he accused environmentalists of producing a water crisis in his home state of California "for the enjoyment and prosperity of the Delta smelt."

Every time an elected politician makes a self serving decision I think "cold dead hand". Then someone brings up McClintock and I think citizen legislator.
That doesn't mean I would wish Obama, Schwarzengger or Pelosi a long political life, but it does mean that our system has hope.

Tom continues to carry the conservative torch. Outstanding guy--I refuse to insult him by calling him a politician.
Thanks for the ping.

T-MAC is the only Republican that could win the governor’s race.
To: REDWOOD99
Well, right now, we in CA don’t have too much to go by as far as the governor’s race.

Is this the same McClintock who couldnt register an asterisk against homo-lovin RINO Ahnold? Who cares. No this is the same McClintock who was within the margin of error against Arnold in the polls until the final week when the establishment convinced everyone they needed to jump to one Republican in the recall or the Dem Bustamante would win. So everyone went with the big tough-talking celebrity and it all swung over to Arnold in the closing days.
Thanks for playing. We have a nice parting gift for you. Next time learn what you are talking about or use a trigger lock before you shoot off your mouth so you don't injure yourself or a bystander.

McClintock got 13% or about 100% of the CA conservative vote in 2003. The rats can only pray the CA GOP is stupid enough to run this guy to lose his 4th state wide election.

Yeah, I see your attention span is as long as your.....as I pointed out, a week before the election they were tied. People made a misinformed strategic decision and listened to the country clubbers and abandoned their instincts.
And he's a member of the House now, so the election is not a statewide one, but I guess that's not explained in your coloring books.
Tell me again what you are doing at FreeRepublic home of American Conservatism?
