>>You can’t get the flu from todays vaccine because there is no live virus in there to infect you.<<

“The flu” is a generic phrase for a group of symptoms used by lay people.

NO WHERE did I say that one can get the influenza virus from the vaccine.

But certain people constantly disregard reactions to the vaccine with the words “You can’t get the flu from todays vaccine “ Well many FReepers have had reactions. YOU saw your doctor. That is what every person should be advised to do. They belittle the idea that a person can have a reaction to a vaccine. It’s unethical.

No, “the flu” is not a generic term for a group of symptoms. “The flu” is an abbreviated term for “viral influenza”. The term “stomach flu” in incorrect. You have an “intestinal virus”. “The flu” is an upper respiratory virus.

You cannot get the flu or viral influenza from todays vaccine. You can have an allergic or other reaction to components of the vaccine but it is NOT “the flu”.

A person can certainly have a reaction to anything they put in (or one) their bodies, drugs or food, I am a living example of that. I have had “reactions” to almost every drug I have ever taken as well as several food allergies a a severe allergy to DEET. If you take a flu shot and get the (real) flu after wards, then you were already exposed and you were going to have it anyway.
