WASHINGTON -- The government agency charged with overseeing the economic-stimulus program says it doesn't plan to change its position that the package directly created or saved 640,329.17 jobs through September, despite its own admission and statements from the White House that the number is not accurate.
Ed Pound, spokesman for the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, said that the number would not be changed. The Government Accountability Office, which is the investigative arm of Congress, issued a report last week saying that there were "significant issues to be addressed" in the accuracy of reports. The report said that "many entries merit further attention" and raised concerns about 58,000 jobs which appeared to have been created by recipients who said they had not yet received any stimulus money.

The list, ping
Cue the Twilight Zone music. No, this is not The Onion. This is our government.
$700,000,000,000/ 640,000 = $1,000,000 +/ job ; I’ll give up mine and take one of theirs, why the “+” alone will enable me to pay for a government approved health plan.
You cannot believe them anymore. Remember the private meeting in the oval office with Obozo?
Enough to be able to afford a brand new car with the cash for clunkers program so we can help make the environment "GREEN".
What is it, about 1.3 million in costs per job?
Where is the outrage?
Those 10 million "funemployed" people are cheering!
Thank you, Glorious Leader!
Fake but accurate.
State Governments are facing fiscal disaster with reduced tax revenue. A good deal of the stimulus was used to give state (union) workers raises. Those raises will be paid next year by the states exacerbating the fiscal crisis.
Feed the beast and expedite the destruction of our free market in the process.
Government takeover of the health industry will be the straw that breaks the camels back.
You (continue to) lie! And when that doesn’t work, lie some more.
Where is the outrage?
There is no outrage.
Most people can’t divide and the MSM never mentioned this.
