Big victory for Reid but plenty of hurdles still remain
The American Thinker ^ | November 22, 2009 | Rick Moran

It's mostly about "process" now - strategies to get the health care reform monstrosity through the senate, into conference with the House, and then the vote for final passage.

In Majority Leader Reid's favor; momentum. His beg-borrow-steal-bribe strategy to get the votes simply to kick off debate on the bill in the senate may spell trouble later as Byron York writing in the Examiner asks the question, "Why was it so hard for Democrats to even start health care debate?"

"My vote to move forward on this important debate should in no way be construed by the supporters of this current framework as an indication of how I might vote as this debate comes to an end," said Sen. Mary Landrieu. And Sen. Ben Nelson said he will "oppose the second cloture motion -- needing 60 votes -- to end debate, and oppose the final bill" if major changes are not made..."

According to UnitedHealthcare, we could insure 20 million Americans for $24 billion using existing private healthcare insurance. So, why do we have to have a trillion dollar healthcare bill that rations healthcare?

“Apres moi, le deluge....”

It’ll apply for Reid, but it’s not going to be good for him....or for what remains of our unity.

It’s coming.

Q ing up for massive buyoff. Don't bother calling, faxing or emailing their office unless you too have a way of raping the american taxpayer and stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from them to offer up for a vote.

So we can make central government bigger and pass the power on to a world court. Some guy in China will decide if you are worth saving or not. I hope Micheal Moore is the first one who is too big to keep.

It’s the proverbial foot inside the door of quasi-dictatorial control of all our lives.

The Dhimmis LIVE for moments like this! Control freaks and power hungry bass turds, one and all.

The difference between a sack of excrement and a "conservative" democrat is you can't attach the modifier "lying" to the sack of excrement.

I'm ready for Federal Health Control. Are you?

“Big victory”? He had to write his own plan because he couldn’t get his committees to do the job right. He had to slip it on the schedule because nobody supports him. He had to arm-twist Mass. to re-write their election law.

And he had to bribe members of his own party with hundreds of millions of dollars — just to get them to CONSIDER looking at his bill?

This is a “big victory”? He’s already lost.

Then we could use the $400 billion in medicare savings to pay for medicare and SS, making them solvent again.

And we could scrap the other 400 billion in taxes — or if we couldn’t get rid of them, they could pay down the trillion-dollar deficit.

And why couldn’t he repeat the same corrupt process later on?
