In the interests of accuracy, Kimberly’s (male) partner shot Hasan. Eyewitnesses attest to this.
Let’s not keep repeating a discredited account.
"Initially it was claimed that a slightly-built female police officer, Sergeant Kimberly "Mighty Mouse" Munley, opened fire on the suspect, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, and kept shooting even after being hit three times.
But at least one witness now claims that Sergeant Munley, 35, was in fact hit by Major Hasan before she had time to get off a single round, and that it was her partner, Senior Sergeant Mark Todd, who actually felled the man now charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder. The witness, whose account was reported in The New York Times, declined to give his or her name."
Both Sergeant Munley and Sergeant Todd appeared on NBC's Today and questioned closely about the sequence of events - but neither could confirm exactly what happened.
Sergeant Munley insisted that she had fired at the gunman, but could not say whether she had hit him. Sergeant Todd described firing the shots which brought down Major Hasan - the first he had ever fired at a live target in a 25-year career - but could not say whether the gunman had already been hit.
The witness who said Todd rounded the corner and brought him down asked not to be identified.
