"(Japan Prime Minister) Hatoyama Vs.Obama -- The Scandal That Nobody Will Report" (由紀夫 vs オバマ「書かれざるスキャンダル」)
Reporters at the weekly Shukan Bunshun news magazine here in Tokyo, Japan have written a rather caustic report about President Obama's 23 hours in Tokyo last week, from a frank Japanese perspective, exclusively in the Japanese language, and released to the newstands just now. In that sense this is more or less an *FR Exclusive*. A number of eye-opening claims, pieces of information and details emerge about Obama's brief stay in Japan as part of his disastrous Asian trip--over and above the very controversial, near-"dogeza" bow delivered as a Head of State of a superpower to the Emperor of Japan. There is criticism in this article for both the Obama Administration and their behavior, as well as within the Japanese government either in response or through their own incompetence. Either way, it does not make for a very pretty picture and is squarely at odds with the Administration which announced upon arrival in the US that the Asian trip was a "success". By what benchmark?
This Japanese magazine is a major weekly publication in Japan. I have as a courtesy provided a synopsis English translation, not word-for-word, of the main gist of the article. As always, the original Japanese authors' Japanese language version of the article prevails over the English. For general discussion, research and historical purposes.

Well he has NEW DELHI, INDIA now angry at him, as a result of what he did and said in Asia. New thread on that coming up in about five......
Complex indeed, if somewhat familiar in the context of our bases in communities across the US> Thanks for pointing out the link I missed.
Many thanks, AmericaninTokyo!
Obama’s arrogance and lack of class in his bow have played much worse even than George HW Bush’s vomiting onto the Prime Minister.
Anybody recall how he GHWB got food poisoning and held the nausea (like a tough former military man) until he couldn’t hold it any longer.
The Japanese were so gracious & understanding of that embarrassing episode.
I’ve got that open in a window, and plan to ping that in a couple minutes. :’)
He sleeps at least a few hours a night, and during that time may dream of doing more harm - but cannot actually do so...
The gist seeems to be that Obama and his entourage are alienating the best allies of the U.S. by incompetence, dithering and alternating between arrogance and obsequiousness.
Oh I remember his barfing in Tokyo allright, more than you could ever imagine.....

Thanks for taking the time to post this! Interesting stuff. Zero is a diplomatic NIGHTMARE......but we all knew that.
Perhaps the international love affair with a an empty media creation will begin the souring process of the reality now.
See any pictures of Geisha girls? One of them was Rahm in disguise.
Thank you for translating and posting from this article.
I have yet to read any explanation for the bow other than Gibb’s “showing respect.” It can’t have been a spur of the moment thing. At least, God, I hope not. We might have to wait for the tell-all book in a few years.
bttt
The one thing he did that I think was good is to pay the 65% of Cobra for the first 9 months of unemployment. Since he destroyed the economy and made small business owners shrink from growing and hiring, it was only fair.
Does that make up for ripping up the Constitution and using the pieces the way Major Hasan used dollar bills at a strip club? No stinkin' way.
Eight days. Eight days, and yours is the very first substantive answer.
Well done. Thanks!
Huh! I have been calling a walking, talking, steaming pile of dung as a human being. He's the worst possible thing that could have happened to the U.S. last November.
Tee hee! (And I bet that provision was not even his idea. anyway.) What did I win? Another 3 years??? Sigh.
