WASHINGTON, Jan. 20--President Carter would easily defeat either former Gov. Ronald Reagan of California or former President Gerald R. Ford if the election were held today, according to the Gallup Poll.

Twice I have seen the Lame Stream Broadcast Media so shaken by an election that the expressions on their faces showed how bad they felt. Reagan was the earlier election and the 1994 GOP sweep was the second. I think that in every liberal media myrmidon’s heart there is this growing fear that 2010 will have a similar outcome. I too have a fear that we conservatives will be over-confident about this election. With all of the foes and their ability to shape the arguments against us, we have to keep their feet to the fire and remind all and sundry that this Obama Administration and Congress is the most intrusive, statist and socialist in our entire history!
I remember car pooling, 55 mph speed limits, odd-even gas purchase days, thermostats down in winter and up in summer, inflation through the roof at 13%, interest rates at 21%, etc. I’m surprise that he polled this good at that time but the critical poll on election day surely had reversed itself and Reagan won.

Never understood why knee jerk negativity became confused for wisdom here on Free Republic.
True wisdom is based on learning the facts before speaking or posting, not making off the cuff ignorant comments based on nothing but a personal habit of knee jerk negativity.
Start with these, then go read her book.

This is just a wake-up call to those people who earnestly believe polls done years before an election are worth anything. Things can change drastically in the space of weeks. Six weeks before last years prez election McCain-Palin were ahead in many polls. A week later they were behind by five thanks to the financial collapse. And in 1980 Reagan ended up clobbering Carter.
“Too bad there is no Governor Reagan on the horizon.”
I BEG TO DIFFER! I don’t believe in reincarnation (I’m a Christian), but if it were real, I’d swear that Ronald Reagan returned to the earth in the form of:

Sarah Palin is our hope and future. She will be elected President in 2012. Why do you think the media would be attacking her so harshly now if they didn’t think she was a threat to them? Who draws the ENORMOUS crowds and raises funds like crazy??? S-A-R-A-H!
And for those who are saying “We’re doomed!” and other negative stuff like that, I say, “STOP IT!!!!”
We need to be speaking positively about our nation because God is healing our land and God is bringing us back to Him. All the negative “doom-and-gloom” talk does nothing but feed the enemy and destroy all that we’re trying to accomplish. Just something to keep in mind.
oops...
Rasmussen has her at 51%.
The media ALWAYS claims that Dims lead the polls until several weeks before the election. They’re hoping to discourage the Republicans and create momentum for the Dims. Closer to the date of the actual elections, they feel a need to get their numbers right so as to avoid losing their reputation as a mainstream media source and so start allowing actual findings to be reported.
What a great moment in history.
Obama is plummeting, while Sarah is soaring.
Excellent video-clip and a stark reminder that the MSM was just about as left leaning then as today.
Turns out the election was not held that day.
I know. Wally looks like he’s about to heft during the whole segment.
All the news thats fit to smoke. Haw Haw.
Perfect Imagery!!!!!!!!
Now there’s an picture that should be spread far and near!
This is a fantastic find. I loved the last one you posted too. Thanks
Will Obama's intentional destruction of America be enough to convince Americans to get rid of him? Will he do so much damage by then that we won't be able to get rid of him? Stay tuned.
