The Obama/Holder Bushwhack
The American Thinker ^ | November 21, 2009 | Jan LaRue

The Obama administration's absurd, unnecessary and dangerous decision to prosecute 9/11 terrorists in a civilian court is plumbing the depths of what Charles Krauthammer has labeled, "Bush Derangement Syndrome" (BDS): the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency -- nay -- the very existence of George W. Bush.

If they can convict some terrorists in the process, get ready for double fist-bumps all around.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, (KSM) the confessed mastermind of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack and four co-conspirators face in a military tribunal at the detention center at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba capital charges including conspiracy, murder in violation of the law of war, attacking civilians, terrorism, and providing material support for terrorism.

This is a high risk play by Obama. It’ll bite them big time if the bad guys use it as a foil for retaliatory attacks in other parts of the world. Plus, I suspect many reasonable Dems and Indys will be disgusted by the dog and pony show, and Obama’s chances of re-election will plummet.

What good socialist doesn’t favor a show trial every now and then? Particularly when there are all those TV cameras deployed.

I hope the defense drags Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld onto the stand. The stark contrast between rational men trying to defend their country, and the morons now running the madhouse will do much to shock the American public back to some sanity....

But, really, how much of this decision is the early implementation of "One World" government? With One World government, run by the UN, we have no wars, only criminal action. Our leaders can shake their fists with a tear in their eye and swear that the criminals will be caught and prosecuted. That never happened under Clinton's watch, nor Putin's.

But in this case "criminals" were delivered by none other than George Bush for the convenience of the incompetent leaders we have today. Now with their demented and twisted view of the world they want to treat terrorists and murderers in civilian courts. They will clearly demonstrate their monumental incompetence, but they will find a way to blame Bush and Cheney while the entire country suffers, knowing their chances of failure (again) is near 100%.

They need to run againt Bush in 2012. No doubt, they imagine this will help them. (In case they find that they cannot quarantine a majority of Repubs for entire Fall of 2012.) Of course, their are more immediate interests to appease as well; and no one better to accomodate that Obama, Inc.

The legal system is going to have to turn a blind-eye to a lot of stuff in order to achieve these convictions. If the courts manage to do this we are all sunk. THAT is why KSM and all the other Guantanomo detainees should have gone directly to a military tribunal.

It’s all Bush’s fault that the defendants are even in US custody to begin with. If Gore had succeeded in stealing the election in 2000, the US would not have invaded Afghanistan after 9/11 and the prisoners wouldn’t have been captured. The Taliban would still be ruling Afghanistan.

i applaud the obama/holder decsion.
this makes a landslide against the rats more likely.
There is absolutely no upside and huge downside.
Ya- it is terrible for our country, but what policy by any rat in the last 50 years was good for our country?
