GOP's Damon Dunn, "Is He the Future?"
Hogue News ^ | November 20, 2009 | Eric Hogue

Damon Dunn has captured the attention of the California Republican Party, as well as the conservative, independent and youthful voters of the state; many are starting to label him the “future of the Republican Party”.

If Dunn is that future, it is best described as energetic, articulate and extremely passionate – and never has voted.

Dunn is the 33-year-old Texas ex-patriot, University of Stanford political graduate and very successful California businessman who has now decided to run for Secretary of State as a conservative Republican. The former Cardinal football star, and employee of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, has a story to tell.

Dunn’s only negative is getting past the fact that he has voted but once in his life, and that was last May during the ballot propositions. The question, can a rising political star capture a statewide office which revolves around the voting process of the state’s residents with a solid voting record himself?

He’ll have to quit his job, because the NFL hates Republicans.

Not necessarily. He works for the Browns. If he worked for a pro team it might be a problem.

btw - I am a lifelong Browns fan so I should know.

LOL, they’ll be back, one day. Remember it wasn’t that long ago that the Cowboys started Quincy Carter at QB. At least you have Brady Quinn! Ok, seriously, you’ll get a QB eventually.

Never heard of him. Sounds like a good resume ... except ...

>> and employee of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns

... yikes. The Browns are a train wreck.

"...seriously, you’ll get a QB eventually."

You are right. They'll get a QB but neglect the offensive line, receivers and running back. They will fix the offensive line but the QB will be shell shocked and too beaten up to ever play well again. They will draft receivers but trade them for future draft picks. They will pickup once great running backs only to have them get frustrated by the incompetency of the team around them. So the running back will retire.

They will fire the coach and gm and start the process all over.
The Browns and Republicans have a lot in common. Never "misunderestimate" their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I had the pleasure of talking to him on your show last week.

He may indeed be the future.

If he is the future of the GOP it is a bright future indeed.

Cheers,
