Further, according to Steve Jones, “About a thousand genes are shared by every organism, however simple or complicated.”

Imagine that. The DNA code was so efficient that God used it in a wide variety of animals.

Isn't common design wonderful?

It goes beyond animals. We share those thousand or so genes with plants, bacteria, viruses, etc.

Yes it is ... Both Darwin and Jones end their books with these words: "... whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved."

Indeed! All elements are made from a few particles, all molecules are made from a few different elements, all of the universe functions with a few forces, Truly elegant, the common design with a number of variations.
