Of course. Sessions made a valiant try, but he couldn't hold up the vote forever. Bless him.

Voting for cloture is standard procedure and hardly a crime against humanity. I would expect all but Snowe and Collins to vote against Hamilton. You can never predict where they will fall. Orrin Hatch gave an incredible speech yesterday denouncing him. As did John Cornyn.

In the Senate, voting for cloture is voting for the bill, or voting for the confirmation in most cases. The Dims understood that and voted against cloture on many Bush nominees, effectively keeping quite a few from confirmation.

Just one reason why Republicans stay behind the Dims in the ongoing battle for the federal court system.
