It's not every day that Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, a liberal Democrat from Texas, says "I agree with Sarah Palin."
She acknowledged the rarity in an interview with The Hill, but said she agrees that the Newsweek magazine cover with a photograph of Palin in running shorts is sexist.
"I've never seen Governor Palin dressed in that kind of attire at a political event," Jackson-Lee said. "What is the necessity of highlighting that picture among the thousands that have been taken of her?"

After you pick yourself up, give me a hand will you?
I Shelly up for re-election?
I Shelly up for re-election?
Have any of you seen interviews on what people thoughts are about the picture that was placed in this magazine?
I saw a young (college age) women interviewed on her thoughts of the photo being placed in the magazine. This ditz states I can’t believe she would use this picture for her own personal gain.
This is how America and our youth think. They actually believe that Sarah chose this picture as a means for promotion. Can you believe that???? Of course you can!
She’s up for re-election next year. I’ve been seriously considering running against her since the demographics in her area have changed quite a bit. IF I don’t run attempt to run against her, I will heavily campaign for anyone who is her opponent.
Okay, if we can’t use the broken clock analogy, how about “Even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally?”
Wow - a shred of decency in this woman. Who would have thought?
Ignorant, pre-programmed stupid liberals.
The sad thing is ask a 15-24 year old a basic history trivia question regarding Pearl Harbor, atomic bomb Japan, who was the first President, anything about WWII and heroes and they are clueless.
All’s they know is political correctness and democrats rule unless they are tought differently in their homes. But basic history must not be tought.
What I forgot to say was they are tought programmed to hate Palin naturally.
Now stop that you :)
Again, if you read her book, the picture starts making sense. She’s an athlete and a runner ... and she did that pic for such a magazine. John Kerry put on “huntin’ clothes” when he went hunting. People sort of tend to dress for their hobby when they aren’t at work. (duh!)
Let us FReepers know. We’ll help!
Sure wish you would run. The folks at RagingElephants.org and Apostle Claver would love to hear from you and they will help!
exactly!
Just had a flash of imagination as to what SJL would look like in running shorts and immediately lost my breakfast!
No, but thanks for asking.
From the sounds of these posts and Sarah’s objection to the picture, most everybody thinks the picture was inappropriate.
I don’t. I see the picture as Newsweek’s way of saying “Sarah is running in 2012”. I hope she does.
It is their way of downgrading her. Just like the babawawa interview was said that the extreme close ups of Palin is a camera trick that they all know in the business is not favorable in such an interview.
Downgrade her with a perfectly lovely picture?
Let's make some chicken salad here.
