SOUTH BEND, IN - Notre Dame Greets a New Pro-life Bishop While Father Jenkins Continues to Serve on a Pro-abortion Board.
Father Jenkins declared that Notre Dame engaged with President Obama because we care so much about abortion and embryonic stem cell research. We will from time to time examine the nature and degree of this professed concern.
We recently recounted Father Jenkinss refusal to suggest the dropping of the trespass charges against the so-called Notre Dame 88, as well as the reasons for skepticism about his action in setting up a task force on life issues. Here, we report on Father Jenkinss membership on the board of an organization that promotes abortion and artificial contraception. We report also on important news that broke as we were about to distribute this bulletin: the appointment of Bishop DArcys successor.
MILLENNIUM PROMISE AND FATHER JENKINS
Along with two of Notre Dames most prominent donors and former Board members (Raymond G. Chambers and Donald R. Keogh), Father Jenkins serves on the board of a major international anti-poverty organization, Millennium Promise. Its policies include the promotion of abortion and artificial contraception.

"It is disheartening and distressing when an institution that is regarded as Catholic, such as Notre Dame, fails to follow the guidelines set forth by the Bishops of the Catholic Church, especially in these vital moral matters. It is not political nor partisan to stand for the sanctity of human life and the dignity of the human person. President Obama clearly does not stand for or advance the cause of the defenseless unborn and their mothers and families" --Director of the Office of Respect Life Activities writing on behalf of Bishop Rhoades.

I agree...Notre Shame is not Catholic anymore and I completey repudiate the University, Mr.Jenkins (he doesn’t deserve to be called Father) and their whole board. This is the first of my 51 years that I have ever rooted against the “Fightin’ Irish’ but I’ve had some fun this football season rooting for whoever they play and watching them fail so badly.

Catholics are 100% pro-life. "Catholics," and CINOs, on the other hand...

I had the same experience. I’ve stopped having pity for ND’s futility on the football field and was actually happy that they were embarassed by Navy and then hammmered by Pitt. They are on the verge of breaking a spiritual bond that has existed with millions of Catholics throughout North America.

Oh, have they been talking with him ... again?
There are ways of working to
get ND back on the Catholic track, and remember the words of one ND graduate (and there are many others) that feel you can't take the Catholicism completely out of Notre Dame:
"But unlike Harvard or Yale, Northwestern or Southern Cal, all once Christian universities but now secular schools, Notre Dame has the weapon to combat all heresies; namely Notre Dame Herself. The modernists may have their day, but, like the song says, Notre Dame will win over all. For the modern infidels to take control here, they would have to blow our dame off the dome, rip the heart (the Eucharist) out of Sacred Heart and lastly, rock by rock, tear the grotto apart. And legions of Her sons and daughters would willingly die martyrs before they would allow that to happen" --
from Fighting Irish Thomas.
Also
Michael Voris, an ND grad has hardly given up on his alma mater either. It's a
very important school to "Save." --
Pray the Rosary. "
Our Lady" is listening ...

The 'sum and substance' of the Catholic faith is the Most Holy Eucharist. Now if partakers of the
True Living Jesus *only* imbibe on Sunday, just how strong are they when Wednesday rolls around? Just like a runner who wants to compete in a marathon must run more than just one day a week, so do Catholics who fervently want to remain with the Spirit, need more frequent reception of the Eucharist. So while Mass is only required once a week, the Catholics who boost themselves up *during* the week are usually the ones you will find fighting more heartily for the pro-life cause; they want to
win the race.

And what part of "breaking a spiritual bond that has existed with millions of Catholics throughout North America," are YOU responsible for by not "having pity for ND's futility on the football field," and was "actually happy that they were embarrassed by navy and then hammmered by Pitt." You see, if YOU can't help save Notre Dame, then who do you expect to do the job? If ND goes down, what affect will that have on our nation? Don't you feel it could be rather serious? Losing a HUGE Catholic college like Notre Dame to the devil? I've walked the campus when NO ONE was around (during the Christmas break) when it was cloudy, cold, damp, and dreary, and yet "someone" was definitely
there. And it was "Our Lady." She's
listening, and you better believe *She* wants
Her University saved!

You’re trying to blame the victims. The administration of ND has gone astray. It is the Church which has the responsibility to discipline the wayward clerics and laypersons who are responsible for this debacle. An individual Catholic who is not a student, alumnus, parent of a student, has no influence on that decision and can only (a) ask that the Church intervene and (b) make ND aware of our displeasure. ND has to be told in no uncertain terms that it is wrong and that it has jeopardized the support of millions of Catholics with its conduct (which I have done through petitions and emails). At the end of the day, ND is not the Church. It is a servant of the Church. If it remains unrepentant and thereby risks damaging the Church’s reputation, then the Church at some point will have to remove its recognition of ND as a Catholic institution. I hope it doesn’t come to that, but that’s the direction in which ND is heading.

No doubt you know that the
Church is being attacked
immensely by the devil. What
could be wrong with praying
for the Church and Our Lady's
University instead of calling
yourself the victim and mocking
them (by making fun of their
losses on the field)? And you
don't need to be part of the ND family to help them either. You can be a subway
alumni like I am and help them greatly
through suffering and prayer. To not believe
so is cynical. The whole premise of faith is to love your neighbor (which includes
Our Lady's University, Notre Dame) as much as yourself. If the University goes
down as a Catholic institution, it *will* be everyone's fault who didn't pray (or root)
for Her -- victim and Church, and neighbor.
