My experience has been somewhat different. I was in favor of ID being taught in schools as promoted by the Discovery Institute , but I didn’t pay much attention to the issue. As a lawyer, I was surprised at the Dover outcome and, for the first time, researched the legal side of Dover in detail. What I “discovered” was that the Discovery Institute was full of crap when it came to understanding the basic legal issues surrounding Dover. The DI’s articles after Dover reflected a complete misunderstanding of fundamental law. Since DI was way off base on something as simple as basic law, I questioned whether they had any credibility on something as complex as evolution. My research indicated that they did not have such credibility and I’m no longer in favor of “teaching the controversy.”
Well please tell us some of the details to back up your claims. And while you’re at it please inform us, regarding your law school, did they teach you that separation of church and state is part of the U.S. Constitution?
