This simply summarizes views posted on this forum over the past year.
1.The president was voted into office by a large block of Americans jumping on the bandwagon of electing the first Black president.
2. Racism hasn't gone away and is used almost daily to intimidate those opposed to the administration.
3. Polling is dubious also due to the intimidation factor. The true feelings of Americans for this Administration aren't being revealed.
Seems to me we've been right on target...

The real polls are in the overwhelming majority of people who are selecting Republicans over Democrats-especially among independents. Just about every one of these polls that I have seen so far the Republicans are leading by 10-20 points. What conservatives need to do is make sure we get the RIGHT Republicans in.

Therefore, when a pollster calls and talks to a potential respondent, how much of that person's answer to whether they approve of the job the President is doing is colored by their desire to not be seen as a racist or having a prejudiced view of Barack Obama since he is black? The inquiry as to his overall rating can be construed to be a reflection of the man. That's exactly what's happening with the poll numbers.
It happened in VA and NJ, also, when exit pollers asked people who presumably voted against the Dem gubernatorial candidate about Obama. They "liked" him, because to say otherwise is non-PC.
All this will, in the long run, come back to bite him, if we survive.

the use of these surveys has become a religion within the halls of Congress and the White House, and a justification to pursue agenda items. And it's true!!! It's like dismissing the effectiveness of a Spartan swordsman because he wields a shield!
Blackness is a shield, the Dems use it effectively, and we're not sure how to counter it.
