Well, that claim is tricky. If your talking about a comparison predicated on amount of land area then indeed Alaska is certainly up there but based on population, Alaska is rather small. It ranks 47th among the 50 states, while Massachusetts and Arkansas rank 15th and 32th respectively.
Of course. I had my tongue ever so slightly in my cheek.
My issues with Romney and Huckabee are of course ideological. And ideologically I'm much closer to her, although as I sometimes say she strikes me as just a bit more populist than I.
She's been a bit coy about some of her positions, but as time goes along she is articulating them more and more, and mostly they are in line with my own.
I'm not shy about admitting that she's not a heavyweight in terms of experience. But whereas Mitt is a real live executive, I don't trust him to hold fast. He's a dealmaker, he'll deal away things that matter in the interest of getting an agreement. Huck is soft on immigration, really soft.
There are heavier heavyweights out there, and I hope some of them run. Cheney's name is floating around now. For me, a Cheney-Palin ticket would be tremendous. She has shown herself to be a fighter, and an effective one. And he is the heaviest heavy-hitter around.
Of course, put her up against the O prior to his election, and there was no comparison. He had no resume at all, and was elected handily anyway.
So, do I think experience is necessary? Absolutely. But only if the experience demonstrates fealty to the constitution and to principle. That lets a lot of people out.
