Amber Cummings, charged with murdering her husband last December, has pleaded guilty to domestic violence manslaughter and will spend at most one year in prison.
The 31-year-old Cummings entered her plea before Justice Jeffrey Hjelm in Knox County Superior Court in Rockland on Friday. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Cummings was sentenced to eight years in prison with all but one year suspended and six years probation.

I would guess you didn't, as I suggested, read both newspaper articles before opining?
There is a lot Of “rest of stuff’ that she did not make up - which backs up her story = and even then, everything didn't make it in the papers. This is a local story for me - in a rural area. People who had involvements with the man corroborate ‘stuff’ and people in small communities like this - word gets around. (Another hint: I worked for the local paper over 20 years. It's possible I know more about this than you do.)
LOL
Good Plan!
She must have known he was a neo-nazi nutbag before she married him, if this was indeed the case, and not some construct she put around him to justify murder.... How do we even know she didn’t download all that kiddy porn herself to further blacken his name?
Looks like Winona Rider after a meth binge.
Shoot! You can’t hardly buy cold medicine without getting the third degree.
It includes a link to the report that describes the materials found. Depleted Uranium as an "dirty bomb" ingredient, LOL. Thorium 232 - a half-life of 14.05 billion years, is about as "cold" a radioactive isotope as one could find.
I'm not buying the "he needed killin'" story based on his threat as a terrorist. His kid inherits the 2 million dollars.
Back the week it happened, the paper gave some info on his dad - I can't find the archive for the paper - new owners have messed 'em up bad - but, as I remember, his father was not a lover of America...
Cummings grew up in California and lived in Texas before moving to Maine in August 2007. Although Robbins said Cummings told him he made his money in Texas real estate, it appears that the actual source of his wealth was a trust fund established by his father, a prominent landowner in the Northern California city of Fort Bragg. An Internet search of the James B. Cummings Trust indicated that it has an annual income of $10 million.

thanks!
Here are various accounts of his personal wealth:

The Bangor Daily News reports that James G. Cummings had bragged to contractors working on his home about his collection of guns, the $2 million he got when his father (a wealthy California real estate agent) was killed by a former eployee in 1997, and his silverware that once belonged to Adolf Hitler. James' wife, Amber Cummings, shot him Dec. 9, 2008, after, she says, years of mental, physical and sexual abuse. Not surprisingly, Amber has pleaded insanity in his murder, but from the sound of it she deserves a medal, not a prison cell.
Deranged Millionaire Nazi Planned to Attack Obama's Inauguration With a Dirty Bomb
Mark Scaramella, the managing editor of the [Anderson Valley Advertiser], said Wednesday that Cummings and his sister, Kathryn, sued to get more of their father's estate in the early 2000s.It isn't clear how much they inherited, but the father's trust fund reportedly earns an estimated annual income of $10 million.
Cummings had violent history - 2/12/09
She should be fined for wasting ammo, though. One .45 round to the head is sufficient.
Google Search: James Cummings Trust Fort Bragg
Add "G" as a middle initial. I think "James B. Cummings Trust" is incorrect.
Several very interesting news reports pop up in the search.
I'm adamant about finding the "wannabe dirty bomber" angle ludicrous, at least based on materials on hand. While it sounds like he was a real prick, I'm suspicious of his widow's motive. A couple million dollars net worth, coupled with an angry/abusive husband is ample motive for murder rather than walk/run away.
All available through the mail.
And enough to give you everything you need for a dirty bomb.
So let's not jump to conclusions. There's likely more to this.
I still remember from 9/11 the poor guy from Jordan who got pulled off a plane for having “bomb making tools” in his luggage. It turned out to be a set of needle nose pliers, a frying pan and roll of electrical tape.
Let's not jump FROM conclusions.
They are reporting a lot of FACTS that makes the guy far from some little innocent “poor guy.”
You could get a good job with obama’s team - or are you just indoctrinated with the PC logic. That ‘don't jump to conclusions’ left 13 dead and many wounded at Fort Hood.
READ the papers!
and as I said, this is MY neighborhood, a small rural area where everyone knows everyone _ and I worked for the local paper for over 20 years.
And not everything makes it into the papers - Put this all together, and it is far from jumping to conclusions.

There's a difference between jumping to conclusions and turning a blind eye. The latter resulted in the obama presidency...and Fort Hood.
If this is in your neck of the woods, then understand that I don’t have access to the same level of information.
Over the past some odd decades that I’ve watched the world go by I have seen far, far too many examples of both the federales and local law enforcement hyping things up then the media taking that ball and running with it.
Calibration isotopes and smoke detector parts have become “radioactive materials”, fender washers are “silencer part”, hydrogen peroxide, gunpowder and such become “bomb making materials”, etc.
Now...
None of this says I think the guy is necessarily innocent or otherwise undeserving of his fate. Especially if he was a user of child porn.
I’ll just leave it with the fact that I have developed a bit of a distrust for media reports of this kind of event. Especially when care seems to be taken to list otherwise legal items in a manner that makes things sound scary.
I see that his defense attorney has logged on.
Number one, it would be hard for anyone to "further blacken his name", since he has apparently done such a -- forgive me -- "bang-up job" all by himself.
Secondly, it may be circumstantial evidence, but the statistical incidence of women viewing kiddie porn is fractional compared to males.
And third, Einstein, a police review of the computer history and work records will show who was at home at the time of the downloads, and who was working, driving children to school or using her credit card or member's discount card at the grocery store, gas station or ATM.
