I don’t know if he was a pitcher or a catcher in this game but he did play on a pro level. He was probably good at both positions.

Just because he liked to play ball, doesn't mean he had a decent batting average or ERA; probably also had an unusually high rate of fouls.

He did seem to be fairly proficient at sliding home, even though most of his hits were single-baggers.
