It is more than emotionalism. Many see a successful elected politician who is interested in more than cocktail parties and corporate junkets. She has rooted out corruption and corrupt politicians, including some in our party. In addition, she was attacked brutally by the media and some in our own party, which has strengthened ties with conservatives.

I am not sure why someone with a strong track record building a strong following is so scary. I wonder if you would have said the same thing in the 70s about Reagan...oooohhh how terrible it is that these people believe strongly in one man. I would imagine most believe Palin is in a rare position to articulate conservatism, and I am all for that, regardless of what offices she may or may not pursue in the future.

I’m old enough to remember the incessant hammering, belittling, and marginalizing Reagan received. Just a grade B movie actor. Yeah, right! And this was before many of the media outlets that we have today. I’m sure that in these times, he would be “borked” or “quayled” even worse. But he paved the way for some of the most prosperous, patriotic, blessed times we’ve had as a nation.
