I’m reminded of the Democrat from SD who was behind by something like 2,000 votes with one indian reservation polling place yet to report in. It had something like 2,100 votes and he ended up getting something like 2,089 of them and he won. Tom Delay, I believe.
Beyond that kind of shenanigans, this thing is over.
That’s probably Tim Johnson in the 2002 Senate race. John Thune was running against him at the time, and he was ahead with almost all of the vote in, but there was an Indian reservation still out that bumped Johnson back up a few hundred. Even though it was likely fraud was in play, Thune chose not to contest it, and ended up beating Daschle in 04.
Yep, Thune lost to Tim Johnson by 524 votes with the help of the Native American shennigans. The really funny thing is that, had he beaten Johnson, Daschle would have retained his seat two years later. So it actually worked out pretty well.
Any election that’s close will always go the the Demonrat.
Weird Al Franken is the latest example. ACORN and it’s affiliates have it down to a science.
