"Obama Bow To Emperor Was Inappropriate" (This A.M.'s Japanese Press: My Translation)

Title in-full is: "Obama Bow To Emperor Inappropriate-- U.S. Conservative Faction Criticizes"(オバマ氏の天皇にお辞儀は不適切 米保守派が批判 (They are essentially saying that US Conservatives are asserting that. (But it is fairly widespread here as a perception, and growing, although to-date Japanese have been their typical polite goodselves in playing down the faux paus of an ignorant, visiting, protocol-devoid foreigner, in this case POTUS).
Goes on to say that U.S. Conservative blogosphere, FOX News, etc. have picked up on the Obama bow as inappropriate. Also tied it into the earlier Obama bow/genuflection to Saudi Arabian King.
For your information.
It is actually from a Kyodo News report, which means it has now hit the Japanese news wires, big time. (...this is equivalent to AP carrying it in USA, Notimex in Latin America, German Press Agency in Germany, etc.).

IMHO, by reporting what “American Conservatives” are saying about the President’s inappropriate bow, Kyodo is apparently taking advantage of what I would term “news laundering”, in that they can get the message across with a wink and a nod without appearing to be “responsible” for reporting something which they might have found distasteful to report directly...

Why does 0bama feel he has to worship...errr... bow down to other leaders? WE know he doesn’t really respect anyone but himself. He is way too proud for that. So what does he really think he is doing? Just more deception?

If the Japanese People and their media even get a MERE WHIFF of that skullduggery (scripted theatrics by Rahm and Obongo to paper over the previous Saudi fiasco as a CYA move) why then the Japanese are going to turn from FLATTERED (although some are indeed embarrassed) in one moment to EXTREMELY INSULTED AND ANGRY the next...particularly if they have the slightest inclination to suspect their beloved Emperor was somehow used as a show prop by Obama. This is like a can of gasoline next to some matches. Wow. What an incredible new angle to this story. I had not thought of it that deeply until just now.

Notice that all of the other leaders maintained eye contact -- although some of them did bow slightly.
AiT, my question is, did Emperor Akihito say, "Obama-kun, Konnichi-wa!"?
(Before you reply, I realize that he is far to honorable to do so -- but -- you get my drift...) '-}

Yes, they do it that way, in a roundabout way. "*They* say it and we are merely reporting that *they* say it".
The Japanese press is extemely muzzled when it comes to any public and particularly matters pertaining to the Emperor. But they do know how to position, leak and move stories in subtle ways.

外国の要人に頭を下げるのは「米国の大統領として不適切」と批判した。
There's where I diagree with the article a bit, maybe.
I'm *OK* with him doing the courteous little head-dip, maybe. I've seen lots of Germans do that, too and somehos it's good form --I even do that in the USA.
Where gaijin get into deep water is when they try to formulaically, "out Jap the Japanese" --sorry, but sometimes they even WANT you go act like the outsider..!
But here, he takes it to a new level, putting saccharine atop a chocolate fudge sundae. Sorry, but that just gross...

How is a PING spam? My list is an omnibus list, to wit:
Please ping me to note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of interest.
I think this thread deserves wide attention. How does that bother you?

I'm beginning to wonder whether Obama's been getting punk'd by the Clinton State Department, and its Chief of Protocol, 17-year Clinton confidant, and former White House Social Secretary Ambassador Capricia Penavic Marshall.
My idle speculation at this link.
