You know, you are right about the “emperor” — because if there were no Douglas MacArthur, there would be no “Emperor”, CORRECT?????????

MacArthur? Not sure it was him. Regardless, that’s correct, it was believed that the Emperor could not be entirely removed without postwar violence, but he was demoted from deity, and made even more of a figurehead than he had previously been. It was also the Emperor who finally got some backbone and told the Japanese high command that he had to pass his kingdom on to his son and that if the war continued, there wouldn’t be any kingdom to pass. :’)
