David Ehrenstein is a Hollywood writer who once wrote a book on the Velvet Underground in the 40's and 50's ..... when he was posting on Salon's "TableTalk" boards about eight or nine years ago, his tagline was "Gay PC Terrorist".

He and another gay poster on Salon got together to harass a conservative poster. They navigated to his family's website, scraped the guy's teenaged son's e-mail address, and sent the boy gay porn images to get to the old man, because they couldn't shake his principles and stout argumentation skills online. Somehow this stalking incident didn't violate Salon's community standards.

Later on, Ehrenstein combined with Michelangelo Signorile of The Village Voice and another rad gay of like mind to chase down Andrew Sullivan's online dating webpage and accuse Sullivan of hypocrisy for making dates online for unprotected sex ("barebacking"), after having written against the practice elsewhere. Another Ehrenstein tag line from that period: "Someday Andrew Sullivan's gonna end ...." The animus stemmed from Sullivan's conservatism on other issues than homosexuality, an inconsistency Signorile et al. found annoying.

They stereotype us as gun-toting hicks, then they decide the way to solve their problem with our convictions is to get into a gunfight with us.

LOL! Oh, you noticed that too? Yeah, just waiting for High Noon here in Texas ..... fortunately, we have lots of open space in which to inter these "self-correcting problems" "after the ball," you might say.
