Google is responsible for about 10% of network traffic. They don’t want to have to pay for it. So they lie about “net neutrality” and how it will be so great for everyone. In reality, net neutrality destroys the incentive for innovation as well as introducing the idea of regulating the Internet.

It is a good example of American style corporatism.

scary smart and supremely self-confident (much like the President himself)

I have yet to see any proof of that much-repeated assertion. Supremely self-confident (= very much full of himself) perhaps, though it strikes me he often seems self-aware of his actual vacuity, but scary smart? Where's his thesis, where are the articles he published in the Harvard Law Review, etc, etc? This emporer has no intellectual clothes.
