Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Senate will finally hold a vote on pro-abortion appeals court nominee David Hamilton, the first person President Barack Obama nominated for any court vacancy. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will call for a vote next week on the pro-abortion 7th Circuit Court of Appeals nominee.

Reid said on Monday that he will call for a cloture vote to cut off debate and end the filibuster-hold that has been placed on Hamilton's nomination.

That will require 60 votes and Reid has little margin of error as Hamilton will likely be opposed by all or almost all of the 40 Republicans (except Hamilton Indiana’s Republican senator, Dick Lugar) and pro-life Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson -- who will oppose him as well, possibly along with a handful of other Democrats.

David Hamilton is about to be voted on by the full Senate for a lifelong appointment to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. We have strongly opposed this radical Obama judicial pick since the moment we first heard about it.

As you may recall, Hamilton is a former ACLU activist who ordered the Speaker of the Indiana House to immediately stop "sectarian prayers" at the opening of legislative sessions.

Specifically, Hamilton ruled that prayers using "Christ's name or title" were sectarian and therefore unconstitutional. Then he ruled that prayers to "Allah" were acceptable! Thus, as a district court judge, Hamilton said "NO" to Jesus but "YES" to Allah!

In addition, this former ACORN fundraiser was called "not qualified" by the American Bar Association, blocked reasonable informed consent abortion laws and has a long history of overt judicial activism.

And now, just as we expected, Senate Majority Leader Reid is trying to slip his final confirmation vote under the radar in order to avoid public scrutiny! There was a huge public outcry in April and May this year when Hamilton's name was first advanced - and there needs to be an even larger one now!

I emailed my Senators (Brown and Voinovich) neither of which I hold in high opinion.
