Thanks for the post, Kristinn. And thanks to Marie and the Admin Mod for adding the Fox news video of Obama’s speech.
My take on it after watching most of the speech is that Obama did not show a SINGLE BIT of feeling. There was no real emotion in his voice. The speech writer wrote the usual stuff about solemn occasion, our heroic dead, and so forth, but Obama was TOTALLY WITHOUT FEELING while reading it.
And, as usual, his head swiveled from side to side as he switched from one teleprompter to the other.
We know, and the troops know, that he doesn’t give a damn about them. In fact, he hates what they are doing—fighting for America and for freedom against vicious enemies. Because Obama’s sympathies are with those enemies.
The troops and their officers were not there to hear or honor Obama. They were there to honor our dead, their comrades, who gave everything for our country and the ideals it represents. It would not have been appropriate for them to turn their backs or to demonstrate in any way on such an occasion. But I found it PAINFUL to listen to that robot Kenyan-Communist-Muslim blather on about things that clearly mean nothing to him. Nothing at all. He feels nothing as he speaks these empty words. He loves no one but himself.
I noticed that he couldn’t get any farther than the 1:30 - 1:40 mark before he had to make it all about him and his being commander in chief.
Meh.
I’m glad he was met with silence.
God bless our troops and veterans - today and every day.
When he placed the wreath, he looked totally bored with the whole deal.
