Agreed generally - I think due to continuing Christian influence, by and large.
I wonder how strong this is though. I was stunned during the election when a local radio host, a Christian, conservative black man, chastised his mostly white audience about criticising Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and said “you all say the same sorts of things in your churches”. Eh? A distinct WTF moment.
it’s because down in the deep south...whites and blacks are around each other much more....although class defined by and large they still interact much more...and did even in Crow days
that and general southern manners which applies to blacks as well
