On Tuesday, Pennsylvania voters chose seven new judges to her higher courts. Six of the seven winners in Tuesdays races for Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth Courts were pro-life judges. Only one Democrat won in those three major races where seven critical seats were filled in Pennsylvanias high court system. Pennsylvanians are no longer just throwing things at their television screens in frustration, but they are taking their frustration to the ballot box and the streets.
On Tuesday, conservatives had great wins at the ballot box. Those wins in the higher courts of our Commonwealth cannot be downplayed by supposed Democratic gains in mayoral races in Allentown, Pittsburgh, York and Harrisburg. One headline lauded these so-called gains, but in reality the Democratic incumbent got re-elected or another Democrat got elected to fill the seat in a bastion of liberalism. No surprises there.
Pro-life judicial winners included one new Supreme Court Judge, Joan Orie Melvin, three new Superior Court Judges, Judy Olson, Sally Mundy and Paula Ott, and two new Commonwealth Court Judges, Patricia McCullough and Kevin Brobson. Only the leading contenders for the fourth Superior Court slot, which appears headed to a recount, are pro-abortion.
On Tuesday, the ballot box, two days later, the streets of Washington, D.C. to participate in an Emergency House Call to Congress Rally on the West Lawn of the US Capitol Building. With less than a weeks notice, about twenty buses from both ends of the state organized to make yet another trip to our nations Capitol. As at the 912 Rally on Sept. 12th, concerned Pennsylvanians joined other concerned Americans in saying Enough is enough and again asking the question, Can you hear us now?
It is very encouraging to see those concerned with the direction our nation is heading stop yelling at their televisions, become educated on the stands candidates take and then get out and vote. Additionally, on very short notice, grassroots organizers came together and again organized buses to make the trip to DC to deliver this message to those who were elected to represent them, We are watching how well you listen to us and we vote.
With estimates of crowds up to 25,000 at the Emergency House Call Rally on Thursday will Congress ignore the voices of concerned Americans who do not want a government takeover of health care an additional government takeover of 6 percent of the nations economy? After the rally, thousands flooded the hallways of Congress seeking the office of the one elected to represent them. Will those Representatives represent the people for whom they work and who pay their salaries or will they bow to Party pressure placed upon them to Follow the Leader?
An awakened and energized electorate will prove most challenging to both of the nations two major political parties. Patriotic Americans want their country back and are taking to the ballot box and streets to reclaim her!
Keep it up! April 15, 2010 could prove to be very interesting indeed.
Slowly pushing the cover back over the cesspool!
Is Colville pro-choice?
“Patriotic Americans want their country back and are taking to the ballot box and streets to reclaim her!”
And, hopefully, all those “brilliant”, pseudo-intellectual independents will finally stop being brilliant and begin to think.
IMHO
It cost me $200 to go down for the D.C. rally—money I can’t really spare. But I thought it was that important. I wanted to reinforce the message of Tuesday’s election. AND the House of Reps still went ahead and passed the bill.
What is it going to take?
Great news for Pennsylvania-—Republicans and Libertarians almost made a clean sweep on election day, particularly with the vital judicial seats.
Is The Bench in Pennsylvania now “women’s work?”
NO...NO they will/did NOT!
an additional government takeover of 6 percent of the nations economy?
6% ... I could swear it is around 17% of the economy.
Interesting way of saying that Republicans (or conservatives) won 6 out of 7 races.
They will not listen to a damned thing their electorate tells them, especially with “dear leader” in the white house. We’ve got to vote them out and make sure those we vote in WILL reverse what has been passed.
It’s that or people are going to start going places we will not want to see.
So, I'm not the ONLY one who thinks so!!!
Thanks for being there! It didn’t cost me that much to drive there, but a 24 hour in-and-out sure took it’s toll on me. Well worth it, in spite of the commies voting for the bill anyway.
Tax revolt?
What is happening 4-15-10?
My house rep is Nita Lowey. She gets voted in with no real challenger. This is what I’m afraid of in 2010. People won’t think it’s time to get rid of their rep—especially in deep Blue areas. I’m still looking to see if there’s anyone on the horizon who will be running against her. Don’t see any!
I’m not as sure the 2010 elections are going to be the normal ignorant voter pushing the lever for a recognized name.
People seem to be paying much more attention to issues and who is doing who. They also now know the Dems run everything. Yes there are Dems and RINI’s who will keep their seats but nowhere near the usual. People really are waking up.
This is wonderful news.
a few years ago, in a fit of rage over a legislative pay increase, Pennsylvanians tossed a Supreme Court justice overboard in a retention vote for the very first time.
After years of being put upon by dictates from the bench, the residents of the Commonwealth have tasted judicial blood, and I dare say, they seem to like it.
Thank you both for your service to our country.
Very possible. If you recall, one of the first things that zero did was to give us all a "tax cut" equal to $13.00/week. The only problem is that the tax code didn't change, only the withholding amount changed so that people saw the increase in their checks.
The problem is that there was no tax cut and those who bought into zero's line will still have to pay taxes on that $13.00/week "tax cut" they thought they got.
I don't think I would like to be in Bammy's shoes on 4/15/10!
