Ok, conspiracy theory here.

No one needs approval as a Mormon to run for public office. I could decide to run for any position. I need no approval. This is silly. When Romney was running for president, indeed most Mormons I knew felt that he was the best person for the job. In Sunday School we talked about what might be the good points and bad points if a Mormon were President of the United States.

No one in authority EVER said we should vote for him. No Bishop, Stake President, Apostle, or Prophet has EVER hinted at who we should vote for. That is a private decision.

The church will often take a position for or against different legislation.

The only thing I have ever heard said was when Bush was running for president and someone said you should vote for the person who is going to be humble enough to get on his knees and ask Almighty God for guidance to lead this great nation. Honestly I don't even remember who said that.

As far as Romney is concerned, meeting with the Prophet is not so extra ordinary. He meets with people every day. I would not be surprised if he has met with all of the Mormons in the congress, or senate at one time or another. I would not doubt if he has met with the Prophet several times in his life. In no way does that mean he takes orders from the Prophet regarding which way he leads Massachusetts. Please!

Conspiracy theorists unite.

Don't start your conspiracy nonsense. If you don't keep up with the news then that is your problem, not ours, you are merely displaying your ignorance.

Sunstone magazine reported the meeting with "the prophet" and it's purpose in 2005.
