I read that article...That is terrifying, especially if the person on whose computer the porn is planted is only able to afford a public defender. You’d need big bucks-for a good computer tech, expert computer analysis , AND a good lawyer-to fight something like that.

Child porn is rampant in the porn world. If you are downloading porn, there is a good chance you are getting child porn with it.

A former coworker admins a porn site and the server has to be based in Eastern Europe because of the child porn on it.

Occams Razor. If 10% of pastors are regular pron users, imagine how much it permeates the rest of society.

It really is that prevalent. This idea that we are just innocent victims of viruses is just nonsense. Take a look at the revenue numbers on porn.

I’m not talking about adult porn - I’m talking kiddie porn.

The pedophiles have found a way to store images on other people’s computers.

“The pedophiles have found a way to store images on other people’s computers.”

Yeah, it’s called downloading it.

Here’s the article I saw yesterday...

Notice you see the word “can” a lot. Also, the article said that his machine was visiting child porn sites constantly. Porn sites infect you with adware that constantly points you back to itself. It does not point you back to their competitors. His machine was most likely infected when he visited those sites.

The idea of some random virus floating in the ether infecting you and turning you into a porn server is a bit ridiculous. We deal with this all the time at the university. If you open a Napster session on campus, you will get a phone call within minutes.

I too get a little skeptical when this sort of thing crops up. It’s awfully convenient. However, it should be remembered that kiddie porn is also a criminal enterprise of enormous profitability. This guy may be innocent, a consumer, or he may be a distributor. Which it is can’t be concluded on the basis of a newspaper article.

Some federal agent is sending porn to the home computers prior to making an arrest.

I'm surprised this type of framing doesn't happen in divorce court all the time, and in the workplace. What a way to send someone disliked away for 10 years, or at least destroy their lives.

I hope you’re right.

Of course - it’s time to give the teens a little talk. Oh we already had the talk about why porn is so bad - but we haven’t had the talk yet that a sneak visit to such a site could possibly land mom & dad in jail, with them heading to foster care.
