I need a new rake. I think I’ll head over to Home Depot (Falls Church, VA) around 8:45. Maybe I’ll take some flowers and say a prayer for Linda Franklin and her family while I’m there.
He's getting screwed. Not quite the same thing...
Wadadli’s go good with any celebratory occasion. Trust me.
I was thinking more of a presidential pardon.
That’s a very nice idea. Let’s do it in spirit, at least.
Those only exist for federal crimes. This execution is for a state crime; the governor of Virginia has sole power of pardon or commutation.
We lived in the Hampton/Newport News area at the time, and when he murdered the man at the restaurant just north of Richmond, I started looking around, over my shoulder, wondering if it’s at all possible the killer would find himself down our way. I’m so very, very sorry for all who suffered through this nightmare, and especially to the families who lost their loved ones.
I think Laz might hit it.
I don’t see what’s wrong with using Saddam’s torture on them.
Put them in a wood chipper, feet first, proceeding slowly. Let pigs eat the remains as they come out the other side.
That’s a fitting death for a Muslim killer.
I worked at a shopping center in Upper Marlborough Merryland at the time this nut case went on his little jaunt for laughs and giggles.
It was advised to anyone who had to walk outside to zig and zag and run or walk very quickly. I had to cross that big parking lot to get to the stores to collect rents, deal with problems, that kind of thing. I zigged and zagged and hid behind the parked cars than ran across the drive to get safely inside.
It was horrible, an awful way to live. I am bitter that this all was caused by some dimwit and while I’m not rejoicing in his death, I do take the position that if ever the death penalty was appropriate it most certainly is here.
If this guy didn’t get the needle than eliminate the death penalty completely because there would be no need.
That’ll leave some ridges!
I'd probably agree with you, except that when this was going on I remember being afraid to take my then 1-yr old baby for a walk. I remember washing dishes in front of the window over the sink, thinking "I wonder if someone is taking aim right now?" Seriously, it was that frightening. It's the only time I can really remember adjusting my behavior due to circumstances like that.
This guy can't be gone fast enough. I'm just sorry his pal Malvo won't get the same treatment.
Expecting Obama pardon in the interest of foolish liberal amity with our sworn enemies.
I’m forever grateful to the families who hosted our high school football games out in the Shenandoah valley. Parents who didn’t even know us showed up and fired up the grill just to try and give families a ‘normal’ afternoon. Many schools had erected green fencing to shield students as they moved between buildings. It was brutal. I had teen-age drivers who I feared every time they left my sight. Yet, it was important, like with the 911 attack, that we spit in the eye of terrorists and go on about our lives.
