If indeed he is awake and talking, he should be put on suicide watch so that he does not take his own life.
The media will be sure to tell us that we cannot TRUST what he is saying. After all, that is what they say about how interrogations don't bear out valid information.
Besides if he IS doped up on pailkillers, it would be a violation of his civil rights to record things he might say while not in full control of his mind.
I am sure he is being watched 24/7
