More articles seem to be coming out all the time regarding the role of policeman Mark Todd, the partner of Sgt. Munley, in taking out Dr. Hasan -- and we do know that he did shoot at him, and we do know that he also handcuffed him.

I do NOT understand why we were told that the doctor died, that they had misidentified a dead victim as the shooter, while Dr. Hasan was in the hospital, his wounds being treated.

Fog of War Syndrome, I suppose??

Happens all the time. Mass casuality event. You worry about triage, getting the worst injured stablized and off to the operating room. ID comes later. One person mistakenly pointing to a body and saying "that's the shooter", and it gets sent up the line.

Remember that they also thought Police Sgt. Manley was dead too. Of course having lost at least half her blood, she was pretty close. Fortunately the hospital she was sent to is really close, maybe 2 miles, only one turn required, other than onto the road from the site and off the road into the hospital's lot (plus one more to get to the emergency room from the parking lot). That's assuming she wasn't on a chopper. If she was, then the pad is pretty much right outside the door of emergency department, on ground level not on the roof as the pads are over at Scott & White in Temple where they took more of the injured.
