My experience is Muslim men believe all western women are whores and they enjoy treating them as such. Anyway, men can do pretty much whatever they want, the shame is all on the women.

I remember that too....the middle eastern guys were fairly aggressive and rather gross - gave me the CREEPS.

When I was a college student touring Muslim countries, we young women were all told to wear covered, modest clothing and to walk in pairs or groups, and not to tarry but to walk briskly and purposefully from one place to the next. We were told by one of our professors from the host country (a female) that the reason for this is that in these countries, if a woman is NOT acting like described above, if she is wandering about (like a tourist) or not dressed properly or accompanied, she is considered “public” and anyone can have their way with her legally.

We obeyed the rules pretty much, but we were only young girls and still got pinched or hassled a bit. One thing that helped was to take an escort, a male hotel employee, with us through the souks and bazaars. Then we were left alone.
