Overtime (Vanity)
Self | 11/8/09 | Thunder Sleeps

I'm working overtime these days. You see, I want a better life for me and my family. No not stupid materialistic things like $200 tennis shoes. But not bare sustenance either. Maybe just the chance to travel somewhere nice on a family vacation, have my children see a little more of this great Country and land before they too, are busy working, raising a family, etc.

I have this crazy notion embedded in my head from, well, being raised an American. I have this notion that if I want these things, I need to work hard, or harder, to earn them. The corollary to that notion is that however hard I choose to work, I also believe I should personally reap the benefits of my hard work. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Note the pursuit of happiness, not a guarantee. Life and liberty to be sure, but only opportunities.

So I'm working overtime for myself and my family's benefit. But Pelosi and the other socialist, fascist, elitists in power would have it otherwise. They would “spread the wealth” with entitlements to my wealth, taken at the expense of my liberties. At the same time, these elitists exempt themselves from the very laws they pass to control us. Arrogance almost beyond belief.

They would have me working overtime to pay more for worse healthcare for myself and my family.

They would make it a crime not to.

They would have me working overtime to pay for healthcare for illegal aliens.

The would have me working overtime to pay for abortions on demand, something I am personally, morally, religiously, and just fundamentally as a human being against. Lets call it what it really is, murder on demand.

They would have me working overtime to support people who choose not to work, who choose to let a confiscatory government support them with the fruits of my labors.

Well, I may be working overtime right now to support these anti-American socialists' dreams. But I am also, as of right now, working overtime to support the campaigns of any true pro-America, pro-American way of life, limited-government, conservative candidates. You may have my money, for now, but I will have your jobs.

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Not subjugation, socialism, and confiscation.

Some thoughts I put together as I sat fuming in Church this morning. Angry almost beyond words at what Pelosi and her fascist, socialist pals are trying to do to this Country.

You might consider having the courage of your convictions. The coming revolution will not be easy on any of us. But we either fight or submit. The choice is yours.

I’d prefer to fight myself. What the communists in this country are doing makes me very angry.

How quaint. But I’m afraid the game is now rigged. If you wan’t good things for your family you need to get an Ivy League degree and secure a power job in Washington or on Wall Street. Then you can take the money from suckers, er, hard working Americans, with impunity.

Or you could work your overtime off-the-clock, for CASH.

I expect this will happen more and more - a large portion of the economy goes underground.

Rangel and Geithner will condemn me for cheating on my taxes, I suppose, but I consider the source...

Your family sounds like my family . . . although I’m the Mom but that is part of what & why we do what we do. I wanted to go to Washington DC for 9/12 and wanted to go again for Thursday but leaving the kids and husband busy working . . . well that is just hard and we have zero family near us. We actually went and spent almost 2 weeks in DC during Summer of 2008, with the kids, to see everything in Washington we could see in that amount of time BEFORE it was ruined and taken over by the DemoRATS.

I don’t know what we can do. I’ve written and called both my Senators and Representative (Sessions, Shelby & Griffith - he’s new and took Cramers seat). I feel so angry and frustrated.
