Here is my frustration, the Muslim community just does not seem to want to come out strong enough when it comes to the "War on Terror" or when fellow Muslims who are extremists kill in the name of their "God", which drives me nuts.
Friday, CAIR came out with a statement, a statement that was mooshy in their response to the tragic events at Ft Hood.
Finally, when folks came to DC for their prayerful event a few months ago, that was great but there was a huge opportunity to express to the nation their beliefs when it comes to radical Islam.
I am not holding my breath.
You are in more control than you believe you are.
Why are we trying to build up Iraq and Afghanistan when they will continue, in the final product, to call US Infidels?
I wonder what their opinion is of the WOMAN who took this guy down.
What a bunch of dog crap (كلب براز).
How about we start at square one again with this apologizing group which is splitting hairs and trying to paint Hasan as "one lone nut", and say, PRECISELY IT IS OUT OF WHAT IS TAUGHT IN THE QA'RAN, THAT HE FELT ENTITLED TO DO THIS AS AN ACT OF HOLY WAR AGAINST INFIDEL KAFIRS??!!
You cannot take a few hardine Islamists out to get drunk, but if you could, over copious beers, they would let down their guards and say "you know, AIT, you sure know TOO much about us. Yes, that is exactly what is written in the holy book and we ourselves have no suprise over such an act. We just condemn it for PR purposes, then add on some victimhood for good measure at the end of our "expression of shock".
“It is important to understand that Major Hasan is an isolated, alienated, and sad individual who was clearly not well adjusted to his life. In a community that values family life, he was single at 39 and still looking desperately for a wife, according to his former Imam. He was in an army that was at war with his co-religionists and he had difficulty dealing with that. He was frequently taunted and harassed for being a Muslim by his own colleagues. After years in the military and after years of caring for soldiers as a doctor, he did not feel as if he belonged and
perhaps that was the key to why he could turn on his own.”
And therein is the whole lie writ large. He did NOT turn on his own. He TURNED on US.
There is not one sentence in this entire article that condemns this man OR the act he perpetrated.
If there is shock and disbelief in the muslim community, it is at the lack of condemnation and/or outrage from anyone in authority. This is a huge victory for them, and they know it.
THE JACKSONVILLE OBSERVER: "HORRIFIC: FT. HOOD RAMPAGE STUNS TROOPS" (SNIPPET: "U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, a Republican from Austin, was briefed by military officials and said Hasan had taken some unusual classes for someone studying about mental health. "He took a lot of extra classes in weapons training, which seems a little odd for a psychiatrist," McCaul said.") (November 6, 2009)
PAJAMAS MEDIA.com - blog: "THE VICTIMS OF FORT HOOD" by Bob Owens (SNIPPET from page 2: "But postings that are thought to be Major Hasan's don't match the portrait of a soldier who was conflicted. They present us with a picture of someone who housed beliefs that established him as a lurking enemy. U.S. Representative Michael McCaul attended a military briefing this morning and found out that Hasan had taken "a lot of extra classes in weapons training, which seems a little odd for a psychiatrist." In retrospect -- and combined with information that Hasan had started yesterday by giving away some of his personal effects, such as furniture -- it appears that his assault at Fort Hood wasnt the result of a man under extreme pressure suddenly snapping. Instead, it looks like a calculating murderer took the time to prepare for his attack well in advance.") (November 5, 2009)

But the most disturbing part is that the imam of the mosque at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki (pictured right). Awlaki is an American who now lives in exile in Yemen where his website incites Muslims to jihad and who has nothing but praise for al Qaeda. Awlaki is hands down the most cited English language preacher in the underworld of online jihad. And what was Hasan's view of al-Awlaki? Hasan's eyes "lit up" when he mentioned his deep respect for al-Awlakis teachings, according to a fellow Muslim officer at the Fort Hood base in Texas, the scene of Thursdays horrific shooting spree.") testing time?.../ Wasting time
"This tragic episode presents serious dilemmas and challenges for both Muslim community organisations as well as for law enforcement and counter terrorism agencies. Muslim organisations do not know how to explain this and the law enforcement agencies will be puzzling over how to respond to it."
Not to worry, The CIC wants to give a “shout out” to all the hard work you put into that.
Thanks for your posting, I will read all of it! :^)
"But we must not now allow them to weaken our resolve to combat extremism, prejudice and ignorance in our society." There the "But" Tis all about THEM.
It’s archival and incomplete to boot.
Take your time eyedigress.
Everything’s a mental health issue these days, and every action is harassment.
This is so troubling, I may need a government check.
A closer look at the Pew report, meantime, shows that of the 26 percent of young Muslims who expressed sympathy for suicide bombers, nearly half of them said it is justified only in rare circumstances.
Muqtedar Khan, an assistant professor of political science and international relations at the University of Delaware, said it's important to consider how the question was framed: whether suicide bombing could be justified "in defense of Islam," a powerful phrase for a community that believes the West is waging a war against Islam.
They believe that here, Muqtedar? Even after all of Bush's efforts to convince them of the contrary? Interesting.
Muqtedar Khan: "When you ask people these questions, people are not just answering, they're answering to suit their politics. They do not want to extend any legitimacy to the U.S. war on terror."
So support for suicide bombing comes from believing the war on terror is illegitimate? There is no other way to express this belief?
Khan also blames the Internet for fueling younger Muslims' empathy for radicalism, and a report to Congress last month backs up that concern. Prepared by a panel of experts, it found extremist Islamic groups are exploiting the Internet for communications, propaganda - even recruitment and training.
Ah. At last a sensible and accurate statement -- that is, that jihadists use the Internet. Blaming the Internet for this, rather than the jihadists and the young Muslims who seek out their websites, is just more silly diversion from the real problem.

More likely the American muslim community is in a state of joy.
"There is nothing that American Muslims can do to prevent such incidents."
Ah, yes there is. Identify and report the to authorities instances of Muslims speaking out for Jihad and Shariah law. Both are unAmerican and contrary to the US Constitution. Adhering to the US Constitution is what makes one an American.
FMC, please refer to Allah as a ‘god’ and not God Thanks. Former military dude.
