Former Navy Swimmer Miraculously Survives 200-Foot Suicide Leap

NEW YORK — A man who once swam for the U.S. Naval Academy's water-polo team has survived a terrifying leap from the George Washington Bridge.

Authorities say 28-year-old Adrian Rawn stopped his car on the lower level of the bridge connecting Manhattan to New Jersey at about 11:30 a.m. on Friday, then walked to the rail and jumped.

Highest I ever jumped into water was 76 feet, and I had to wear combat boots.

Felt almost like concrete.

Just WOW...!

There are two people in history who have jumped off the Golden Gate Bridege TWICE.

Both succeeded the second times.

More pertinent to this post is-why did a US Naval Academy Olympic Gold Medalist jump off the GW bridge? Is this a serving officer? Terrible reporting.

I know. I read several other articles that weren’t much better.
This one combined with some info from another saying that “In recent weeks, he was having trouble at work and his grandmother died, “ add a bit.

It doesn’t sound as though he is active duty, but I can’t tell for sure.
