I have heard some doctors will be leaving the US. And, those that stay behind will reject medicare. What’s up with that?
The amount that Medicare pays does not even cover the cost of seeing a patient.
What will happen is physicians will only see patients with minor medical problems.
You can see 3 patients in the time it will take to see one patient with complex medical problems.
You can make more money seeing one patient than 3.
The physicians who do not retire will do this.
Mark my words.
Would a doctor even be allowed to be strictly fee for service, refusing all insurance or government plans, and just work for straight up cash, or let his patients have a payment plan through his own office financing? Like cosmetic surgeons and fertility docs today?
I’m one of them! No more of this for me! Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid can see the patient i saw emergently at 5pm on Friday, 37yr old with metastatic lung cancer and intractable pain. She can deal with it, NOT ME. I AM NOT a slave. Atlas WILL Shrug and I’ll take a nice one way trip via Lufthansa to the land of the adults. They might be “socialists” in Germany, but we’re dealing with FAR worse here.
(So, who’s going to see the patient when I’m reading a book in the Tiergarten?! NOT ME) You ask your representatives that question!!!
