Obama snubs Ft. Hood to relax at Camp David (This is the CINC!)

Dan Riehl checks the President's schedule and learns that Obama's not going to Fort Hood, but rather to Camp David for the weekend. In an update, Dan notes that his predecessor is more sensitive to the situation.

Fox Reports GWB and Laura spent a few hours at Fort Hood, no photo ops. Now that's a CIC.

Are you kidding me? Camp frickin' David? What, does he have a tee time close by? For heaven's sakes, he's the CIC. And he's taking the weekend off? This guy simply doesn't care. Unbelievable via Fox.

Yes, and since they live within driving distance, don't travel with a press contingent, and have a fraction of the security detail, it's far less intrusive for W. to visit.

What about fine for the people on the ground here in Central Texas trying to deal with the investigations, the security, the limits on access, ALL with out having to work around a freakin President who can't do a damn thing to help anyway. I think I speak for the majority of the people here - we don't want the President here right now. He can give his "shout outs" from Camp David.

The Tall, Muslim, Marxist One is now AWOL as CIC. Obama’s Islam is Peace Train hit a wall of truth Thursday when an adherent of Islam, once again, proved that Islam supercedes all other allegainces and mandates war on its enemies. Obama has already proven his allegiance to Islam (imho, not just by slobbering on the Saudi royals’ hand, but, more importantly colluding with the Egyptians in the UN to promote a resolution against “blaspheming” Islam. How can POTUS wage a war against our enemies when he clearly sympathizes with their agenda, their ideals and their history?

I’m sure you’re correct and that’s fine for an address to the nation, it is not however a substitute for his not visiting Ft. Hood.

Though I’m pretty sure they don’t want him at Ft. Hood he should have visited to pay respects.

Sorry, crescen, but I don't argue on a conservative forum with people who are defending Obama for doing the indefensible.

If you want to continue to make excuses for him, far be it from me to stop you, but you are dead, dead wrong.

IF Obama cared about what happened at Ft Hood. IF he were a real Commander in Chief. IF he didn't do everything he does for his own glory and self-gratification, then he would BE there, just like President Bush, who was there last night, just like President Bush who, as CinC, visited the families of the fallen......WITHOUT cameras, and even his SS detail in the room.

If President Bush were CinC when this happened HE would be there.

Everyone who thinks clearly and knows the difference in the two men, agrees with me on that.

It’s NOT a substitute, (I have to wonder if he thinks it is) and some of those are words that should have been used the day of the tragedy. His lame self couldn’t come up with any kind of emotions, empathy, or sympathy....his words mean NOTHING to me.

Hi, Ohio! You are exactly right. If he’d jumped on Air Force One yesterday with no grandstanding and an “Oh my gosh, this is horrible we all need to show our support and concern for our troops” my opinion of him would have gone up a smidgen. This is what presidents do. He was more concerned when Michael Jackson died.

Of course, McLynnan. He is THE PRESIDENT. He could have been there yesterday, or today, expressing his support for his troops. He could have kept the cameras away (AS PRESIDENT BUSH DID), and he could have given comfort to those who were wounded.

There is only one reason he didn't do that. He doesn't give a rip about them and I truly believe he is empathetic with the Muslim terrorist who committed this attack against our military.

(And he WAS more concerned about Michael Jackson's death than his troops. Disgusting).

The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood's Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood's military leaders and hospital staff for the "amazing care they are providing. . . "

The media would be slobbering all over him for being such a wonderful, compassionate man.

He didn't go because he doesn't care. A military base always accepts a visit from the Commander in Chief.
