On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting, "Allahu akbar!" ("God is great!") committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11. And no one wants to call it an act of terror or associate it with Islam.
What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Fort Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of nondenominational shoplifting.
This was a terrorist act. When an extremist plans and executes a murderous plot against our unarmed soldiers to protest our efforts to counter Islamist fanatics, it's an act of terror. Period.

As long as we’re on the topic of word choice
I never liked terrorism being called a tragedy, because it sounds like a natural disaster that just happened randomly.
I rather call it an atrocity.
It is terrorism....just like that jackhole who threw a grenade under his CO’s tent during desert storm. It’s all about allegiances. The press is trying to spin this now as he was being taunted....Let me tell you-after 20 years in the Army, you dont (openly) taunt field grade officers, especially if you are a PFC/SPC. Everyone knows who is straight, and who is messed up in a unit, and you work around those things when you have to....
Peters is right on target.
“The US Army’s unforgivable political correctness is also to blame for the casualties at Fort Hood.”
We’re in big trouble when PC permeates our military like it has.
I want to point out a possible an added sidenote to the terrorist act.
The act itself is horrific regardles of where it occured in our country. But the RATS ae making a monumental blunder to react they way they have for another potentially less reason.
I am a native Texan (San Antonio) living in the northeast for 33 years with family roots still in Texas. One thing about Texans....they take attacks on their soil personally and they DON’T forget them. Remember the Alamo was not just a phrase...it is a way of approaching life.
I truly believe the Chicao-CA-and Northeast controled RAT-party is in the process of buying themselves a level of long term ill will the likes of which they have never seen. What part of “Don’t Mess with Texas” do these morons not understand.
Why did this puke NOT get dealt with years ago?
Everyone was in fear ... terror, if you will ... to say or do anything.
Subliminal terror is real .. it keeps people away from the rim of the Grand Canyon, out of bad neighborhoods, off of ladders and out of airplanes.
And the muzzie monkeys have the American PCers by the balls.
I think it all began in the 60's when I first heard the phrase, "My country .. right or wrong". America was challenged to consider a lot of moral and legal issues and determine what was right or wrong. THIS was the great play of that era. We were playing the other guys game.
Until that time, we knew right from wrong and moral/immoral because we were essentially still a 1940's and 1950's psychology ... God, country, USA, apple pie and Norman Rockwell ,, supported by a vastly larger percentage of church attending people .
I've pretty much always attributed our problems today to the removal of a real God and His Son, Jesus from our common conscirnce.
Ann Coulter IS correct ... convert everyone to Christianity.
I prefer “Act of War”!
But that’s just me. I lost a distant cousin in tower 2 and say we should have nuked every major Islamic city in the world on 9/12.
But that’s just my view.
Finally, truth in black and white.
“I’ve pretty much always attributed our problems today to the removal of a real God and His Son, Jesus from our common conscirnce.”
There is much truth in what you say.
It’s not just your view. I think it should have been neutron bombs and any country that objected told “Take a number and we will get to you as soon as possible.!”
I have never understood the concept of a PC war.
In this instance, I heard someone call it “personal jihad”.
Seemed apt to me. Not to say we may not find out down the road that he had ties to terrorists. But for now, it works.
PS:
Has anyone else heard the report of his having a visitor the day before the attack? CNN said residents at his apartment had never seen a visitor until Wednesday. A man in Muslim garb reportedly accompanied Hasan to his apartment and stayed about 5 minutes. Residents noticed because it was unusual.
Anyone heard any more about it?
I agree. The use of that word is a journalistic perversion of the language. It started with those ignoramuses and its use has spread to nearly everyone.
No doubt! If he got any ribbing, it had to be from officers but I think that is mostly a BS story and excuse-making by his family and the Left.
He is a scumbag traitor and Hussein showed his true (muzzie) colors once again by being so blasé about it.
That dirtbag will never, never deal honestly with anything involving Muslims or Islamic countries.
Absolutely! Islam is an all-encompassing way of life and political ideology that is able to masquerade as a religion in this country and hide behind the Bill of Rights.
It is insidious, should be investigated, declared a non-religion and an enemy of the nation. (I like to indulge in little fantasies sometimes.)
***we should have nuked every major Islamic city in the world on 9/12.
But thats just my view.***
I’m trying to find a logical reason to oppose your view....But I just can’t!
Soldiers were killed by jihad, polical correctness allowed it.
I’ve been calling it that for three days, whenever I talk to somebody about it. And I will continue to name it what it is.
