Someone supplied him the weapon.

I do wonder why they don’t have at least officers carrying weapons on base.

I can understand not having every enlisted man with a weapon state side but I think that because we are at war that officers and E-7 and above should be packing. Especially in the Army and the Marines.

I just don’t get why a shooting force would restrict firearms so much. I heard a guy saying that even the security keeps their ammo separate.

When I was in the Navy, we kept a gun on our hip when we were on duty with rounds in the mag ready to chamber. We were under orders that if we drew our weapon for anything other than the use of deadly force that we would be court martialed.

I don’t know if this is a difference between the Navy and the Army, but I suspect the policy has changed.

The PC military isn’t gutsy enough to say “We’ll decide which officers can carry” because they might offend a Muslim or a gang-banger who isn’t allowed to carry. Because they use contractors who cost money, they have to scale back on security when money is tight.
